Ok. So today I want to talk to you about fueling your life and workouts properly.
In case you hadn’t picked up on this, I am very health conscious. I don’t really claim to live by any one way of eating. But I don’t eat meat, gluten, or dairy.
So sometimes finding something to eat on the go can be super difficult. I don’t always have time to make myself an actual breakfast in the morning (even though breakfast is my favorite thing in the world and I definitely have a post dedicated to it coming soon).
But I’m also the type of person who needs to eat something before working out.
I’ve always been one to grab a protein bar before a workout. To me it’s the perfect amount of food before going on a run or hitting the gym.
But I feel like most protein and granola bars out there just taste like a straight up candy bar. They’re so sugary and on the days I’m brave enough to check out the nutrition label I’m scared by how many ingredients I can’t even pronounce.
It’s important to fuel your body but honestly I don’t know if it’s more important than not treating your body like a chem lab…
So one day after staring at all of the different granola bars in Trader Joe’s I stumbled upon GoMacro. And I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the ingredients on the back.

And I don’t just use these before a workout. Life gets super busy (especially when you’re a full-time student, working three jobs, and trying to grow a brand) and sometimes you just don’t have time to sit down and eat a proper meal.
But the pitfalls of not eating all day tend to be either binge eating everything you can find once you get home, stopping at the first fast food joint you see, or eating late in to the night. Which I don’t recommend eating past 8pm.
So instead of just not eating anything at all I’ll always have a GoMacro in my purse (or my car cause let’s be real here, I almost never carry a purse).
I absolutely love the taste of these bars. I feel like I’m eating good wholesome food and not candy.
AND… This is the first bar I’ve ever eaten that ACTUALLY MAKES ME FEEL FULL.
It’s amazing to me, because in the past I’ve been hungry no more than an hour later. And then what’s the point of eating it in the first place?
