Sincerely Liv is 2 today!
I honestly cannot believe it has been 2 whole years since I launched. And it’s even weirder to think it’s been 3 years since I came up with the idea.
So today we’re going to take a trip down memory lane and look at some pictures from my favorite shoots.
Many of you have asked me, or are wondering, why blogging? Why is this girl so passionate about posting her life online?
I’d love to tell you that was a simple answer. But then I would be lying. My relationship with blogging has been going on for a VERY long time. However, I never once actually took it seriously. I thought, eh, this is a hobby. This is something I can do when I’m bored. It was never something I considered as an actual career path.
I started my first blog when I was 9 yrs old. I know. What could I have possibly posted about at 9. I couldn’t even tell you what the name of that blog was (probably something along the lines of “MY LIFE”. Super creative. I know.), but I can tell you that it lasted about a month. With it’s amount of posts totaling 3, it died a short painless (and unrecognized) death.
Over the next few years I started a few more. My “Life as a Teenager” era, then my “I’m an Individual Hear Me Roar” era. And finally I decided to give it a rest. I could never keep up with it amongst the millions of other after school activities I had going on. And being that I hadn’t really seen an actual purpose for blogging I let it go.
Now comes college Olivia. I had always dreamed of becoming an actress. But I knew that I did not want to major in Theater. I had always liked writing. So I figured I would do something with that. I started college as an English major. I immediately switched to Journalism. Because I realized that the kind of writing I liked to do had a lot to do with talking about events that have happened along with profile pieces and things along the lines of that. But I don’t like writing for news, and magazine layouts are fun, but still not my thing. Over the next couple years I changed my major 5 times.
Finally, the summer after my Sophomore year I was staying in Malibu for a month of summer school. In the previous semester I had taken a class that was all about the environment. This caused me to stop eating meat. I was forced to become creative with my meals and therefore I took to the internet to find recipes. That’s when I stumbled upon the world of food blogs. Which lead to my discovery of travel blogs, fashion blogs, and so on and so forth.
Immediately I fell back in love with the hobby I had tried so hard to keep up. I realized that I could turn my love of writing about my own experiences into something meaningful. And thus, the concept of Sincerely Liv was born.
It’s been such an amazing experience so far. And I’ve learned so much about myself along the way.
I’m looking forward to what my magical little corner of the internet has in store for me.
